« One Thought Per Break | Main | Hank-FM »

Dan Kelley

While I'm disappointed that Bruce has elected to debut his new single on AOL rather than radio, I've got to observe that while radio supported Bruce from "Greetings From Asbury Park" through his rise with Born to Run and his 80s run with strong top 40 and album hits - radio in recent years - reasons not relevant here - haven't given him the support it once did.

His music doesn't fit the mold for the current flavor of AOR/Active Rock; classic rock isn't known for widespread support of new music - and AAA support is inconsistent.

I'm doubting he could depend on radio to really break his new material.

Yes...I'm a Bruce fan - and someone who played Bruce's "Spirit In The Night" and "Kitty's Back" on the radio when it was new.
