And we wonder why radio has a PR problem? It's not just that XM and Sirius are doing a great job. Terrestrial radio continues to shoot itself in the foot. Case in point is a story from a few weeks back about WLTO in Lexington, KY. According to the news story, a DJ offered "100 grand" in a contest, and when a contestant did the required listening and actually was the correct caller at the right time, she was told she had won a Nestle's "100 Grand" candy bar. Hilarious.
After the winner complained, she was sent home and offered $5,000. Not good enough - nor should it be. She's taking the station to court for the $95,000. As it should be.
