Well then...wait till NEXT year, when our convention
besieges the banking mecca of Charlote. You'll be
lucky to escape with only two new checking accounts
while you're being served bar-be-que. Hey...both my
mom and brother live in Charlotte and I grew up in
nearby Greensboro. The city knows how to land
conventions (very slick, very aggressive...after all, they beat out superb competitors for a "crown jewel" money-magnet...the NASCAR Hall of Fame). As Bill Jacobs proposed in his blog here within the past month, we quickly need to change the host city to one with more sex appeal and media glitz...if only for the purpose of better showcasing stuff like HD radio. Any takers to help (and it will take a concerted, vigorous, quick effort) get NAB 2007 moved?

Let me correct my own blog submission.

It was PAUL Jacobs who first broached the
subject of it not being real bright to hold
next year's NAB in the relatively "off the
national media radar screen" (my words) city
of Charlotte, N.C.

You can go back and read his well-written
piece from September 28th by clicking onto
