The media world is recovering, and radio is assessing its rates, its supply, and its demand.
Apparently, so is Sirius XM, reportedly doing much better these days.

Do you get a remote with a DJ and interns with that?
This was definitely coming once the agreement expired. The consumer gets hit again.

Not a revenue generator as much as a way to goose subscriber numbers. Notice it's not offered to NEW subscribers, just those who have dropped their service. Sirius XM often gives away free months of service to existing customers at the end of their subscription run in order to maintain subscriber numbers. And as Rick noted, there will be a rate raise in July (or sooner) which could also negatively impact subscriber counts.
